Induction of Kobe Bryant To Hall Of Fame Reportedly ‘Postponed’

The Induction of Kobe Bryant To Hall Of Fame Has Been Reportedly “Postponed” to 2021.

The induction of the late Kobe Bryant into the United States’ basketball hall of fame has been reportedly rescheduled next year.

This, as Kobe Bryant was scheduled to be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame on August 29, 2020. Aside from Kobe Bryant, former NBA stars Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan, and six others were also scheduled to be inducted in 2021 due to the ongoing global pandemic caused by the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) killed a total of over 350,000 patients and infected over 5.7 million as of this writing.

Jerry Colangelo, the spokesperson of the Massachusetts-based Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, told ESPN on Wednesday that the induction was “definitely canceling”, adding that the new schedule would have to be “the first quarter of next year”. Colangelo also said that the board would meet in a couple of weeks and would look at the options of when and where and how.

Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas along with her daughter, Gianna, and seven others last January 26. In his two-decade basketball career with the Los Angeles Lakers, he was a five-time NBA champion, an 18-time NBA all-star, and three-time NBA Finals MVP.
