Here’s a statement of US President Donald Trump regarding his warning to “strongly regulate” social media platforms.
US President Donald Trump warned to “strongly regulate” or close social media platforms down after Twitter labeled his tweets.
Although Donald Trump didn’t explain what actions he could take, yet the warning was his clearest intention to use the power of government to target his enemies in the private sector.
Moreover, CNN reported that this raised the stakes for Facebook and Twitter as these platforms engaged with Trump’s “misleading” claims about mail-in voting as well as his “baseless” implications that a host of a cable TV news had a hand in an aide’s death.
In his tweet, Trump said that Republicans felt that social media platforms — including Facebook and Twitter — “totally silence conservatives voices”, as such, the government will “strongly regulate” or “close them down”.
Republicans feel that Social Media Platforms totally silence conservatives voices. We will strongly regulate, or close them down, before we can ever allow this to happen. We saw what they attempted to do, and failed, in 2016. We can’t let a more sophisticated version of that….

….happen again. Just like we can’t let large scale Mail-In Ballots take root in our Country. It would be a free for all on cheating, forgery and the theft of Ballots. Whoever cheated the most would win. Likewise, Social Media. Clean up your act, NOW!!!!

Trump’s tweet came after Twitter on Tuesday night (US time) applied a fact-checking label to Trump’s content for the first time, saying that the tweets from the US President were “potentially misleading”. The said label linked to a curated page filled with links and summaries of articles describing how US President Donald Trump’s claims about mail-in ballots were unfounded.
After the labels were applied, Donald Trump tweeted to claim that Twitter was “interfering in the 2020 Presidential Election” and “stifling free speech”. Trump added that he wouldn’t allow it to happen.
