COVID-19-related spam messages and malware-contained emails include:

  • an email from a cyber-attacker who was impersonating as an “authoritative government organization”, opted to solicit “fraudulent” donations or distribute malware-contained attachments.

  • an email from a cyber-attacker who attempted to target those organizations impacted by “stay-at-home” orders

When you receive these types of messages on your e-mail, Google will inform you about this by way of placing a pop-up warning sign that “seems dangerous“.
