177 fresh emojis will arrive on iPhones “later than usual”, according to the Unicode Consortium.
The Unicode Consortium stated that it would have a delay on the arrival of 177 fresh emojis on iPhones due to global concerns over COVID-19 or coronavirus disease.
This, as the Unicode Consortium, in its blog post, stated that the release of Emoji 14.0 was rescheduled from March to September 2021, as such, the said delay would impact its related data and specifications, including its fresh emojis.
In a Twitter post, Jeremy Burge explained that the additional emojis included in Emoji 14.0 wouldn’t arrive at major platforms until 2022.

📍 117 new emojis (Emoji 13.0) will roll out in 2020 as planned. Usually September-October for Android and iOS.
👉 Whatever emojis are in Emoji 14.0 (still TBD) won't come to major platforms until 2022, instead of 2021. https://t.co/c9WVpTf4jN
