LTO will be extending the validity of registrations, licenses, and permits.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) officially announced that it will be extending the validity of registrations, licenses, and permits.
This, as the Philippine government imposed community quarantine in different cities and municipalities in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease or COVID-19.
As the National Capital Region was under a community quarantine from March 13 to April 12, government workers in the Executive Department has been suspended, thus, the Land Transportation Office will not be collecting penalties for the late registration of motor vehicles as well as renewal of drivers’ licenses that will expire during the duration of the community quarantine.
Along with the non-collection of penalties and renewal of drivers’ licenses, the office has also announced that the validity of all student permits shall be extended within the quarantine period. Moreover, the Land Transportation Office also noted that Temporary Operator’s Permits (TOPs) that expired on March 13, 2020, can be settled during the quarantine period without any suspension.
