Incoming White House chief of staff Mark Meadows will be self-quarantined after having contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19.
This, after the spokesperson of Mark Meadows tweeted that he was not exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 and a precautionary test came back negative, adding that Meadows was advised that he will be self-quarantined for a 14-day period after being exposed to the 2019 novel coronavirus or COVID-19 during the CPAC conference near Washington.
US President Donald Trump earlier announced that he had chosen Mark Meadows as the new chief of staff of the White House. Meadows would be the fourth person to hold the said position. Mark Meadows will replace Mick Mulvaney, who had been serving as acting chief of staff since Trump fired John Kelly in December 2018.
Aside from Meadows, five other elected officials of the United States have announced that they were also self-quarantining, with four of them were exposed to the 2019 novel coronavirus during the CPAC conference near Washington.
