Over 600 Added To Coronavirus Death Toll in Italy
ITALY – The locked-down country recorded over 600 deaths due to the 2019 novel coronavirus in just one (1) day.
Italy is currently under a total lockdown following the increasing cases of coronavirus in the country. Both the total number of cases and the death toll continue to increase daily.
Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte initially locked down only the Lombardy region and 14 provinces in the country. However, it was visibly not enough to stop the spread of the disease.
The Italian Prime Minister extended the restriction of the people’s movements to the whole country. He also ordered non-essential businesses to stop their operation as the country fights the crisis.
The country exceeded China in the coronavirus death toll in March 20. In just a day, there was an increase of over 400 deaths.
Recently, the daily coronavirus death record in Italy soared even more. Based on a report on Al Jazeera, the country recorded 627 deaths due to COVID-19 in just one (1) day. It is the highest daily coronavirus death toll it has recorded so far.
Currently, based on Worldometer‘s live tally, the total confirmed cases of coronavirus in Italy is 47,021. The death toll is at 4,032. Globally, there are a total of 274,732 confirmed cases; 11,369 deaths; and 90,942 recoveries.
