Do you remember former child star Sarah Abad?
Sarah Abad, the former child star who always had “may sakit” role is living this kind of life now.
She starred in several movies but her roles were almost the same. Sarah had several movie stints wherein she played the role of a sick child. She was part of the movies Kung Mawawala Ka Pa in 1993 and Bukas Bibitayin si Itay in 1995.
It might not be known to many but Sarah is the sister of Kapamilya actress Kaye Abad. With this, it is not a thing to be wondered that interest in acting runs in their blood.
However, Sarah went out of the limelight, unlike Kaye. The former left the entertainment industry and focused on her studies. In 2019, she got married to Kamikazee vocalist Jay Contreras and they now have 2 children.
Those were the reasons why it took long for Sarah to have her showbiz comeback, based on the article from PUSH. “Ang last ko pa nung mga six years old pa ako, di ba, yung puro may sakit (ang role). After nun nag-focus ako sa studies ko, so natigil talaga. Then after ng pag-aaral ko nagkaanak naman ako, so focus ako sa family. So ngayon lang talaga ulit… kung sana mabigyan ng chance, ako babalik,” she said during an interview back in 2018.
When she finally came back to showbiz, Sarah Abad became part of the movie We Will Not Die Tonight featuring Erich Gonzales. From her “sakitin” roles when she was young, the actress now portrays a different image.
“Nung time na nagpahinga ako, yung ate (Kaye) ko naman naging ano ng vocalist ng Parokya ni Edgar, si Chito (Miranda). So, yon nakilala ko si Jay, so parang nasa band scene kami ng ilang years din kaya nai-influence na ganyan, tattoo and all that. Pero hindi ko naman pinagsisihan, okey lang,” she shared.
After that comeback movie stint, Sarah was able to grab the role of Snooky in Ang Probinsyano. She also played the role of Nina in Los Bastardos.
When asked about her expectations now that she is back in showbiz, Sarah Abad said, “Expectations ko? Wala naman po. Iniisip ko na lang na ito, (mga tattoos) ang parang edge ko from all the other actresses na ako yung may mga ganito at ito yung tatak ko.”
Based on the article, Sarah was not able to get projects because of her tattoos but it is not a big deal for her because she does not consider her painted body as a disadvantage.
