Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) encouraged operators, drivers, and conductors of public utility vehicles (PUV) to wear face masks amid 2019 novel coronavirus in the Philippines.
This, as LTFRB Chair Martin Delgra III signed Memorandum Circular 2020-005 — Guideline to Govern All Public Utility Drivers and Conductors and Terminals Operators in Ensuring a Safe Public Land Transportation in the New 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCOV) — in order to avoid the spreading of the 2019 novel coronavirus.
According to Martin Delgra III, drivers and operators must comply with the memorandum circular. He added that there’s a corresponding penalty for not complying with the said memorandum circular — breach of franchise — with at least PHP 5,000 per violation.
Martin Delgra III also encouraged the riding public to wear face masks as well. Aside from face masks, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board assigned terminals to use hand sanitizers.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board also posted safety tips on terminals as a reminder from the Department of Health.
