Authorities Confirm 7 Chinese Nationals Quarantined in Dumaguete City Now
CHINESE NATIONALS – There are seven (7) Chinese people who are now quarantined in Dumaguete City.
The Philippine authorities continue the tight monitoring against the novel coronavirus. The said disease has held Wuhan City in China under an outbreak now.
The novel coronavirus or the nCoV is just one of the many coronaviruses that can infect humans. It was first recorded in Wuhan which is under a lock-down now after thousands have been infected.
The nCoV outbreak in China has reached several other countries including the Philippines. The first coronavirus death case outside China took place in PH. The patient was a Chinese man from Wuhan.
Currently, there are more than a hundred people monitored and quarantined in the Philippines. Some of them are confined in hospitals and isolated while others were advised to observe self-quarantine at their homes.
Recently, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the authorities in Dumaguete, Negros Oriental confirmed that there are seven (7) Chinese nationals quarantined in the city. It was in January 31 when they arrived in Cebu from Shenzhen, China.
The said Chinese people visited Bohol and Siquijor. Yesterday, they went to Dumaguete City to fly back to Cebu but they were not allowed due to an executive order.
Based on the report, the 7 Chinese nationals were advised to undergo self-quarantine. According to Provincial Information Officer Bimbo Miraflor, the foreigners rented two (2) apartments through AirBnB where they are currently staying.
In case these Chinese will be well until next week, they will be allowed to go home on February 14, 2020. More updates may be posted soon.
