Sony officially revealed the logo of PlayStation 5 (also known as PS5) during the CES 2020 press conference on Monday, January 6 (Tuesday in the Philippines).
The logo itself looked like PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4’s logos, yet the only difference between these logos is the number. The number in the PlayStation represented its version — 3 for PS3, 4 for PS4, and 5 for PS5.
The details of PlayStation 5 have not yet revealed as to what the console looks like as of this writing. Yet Sony revealed that the PS5 will support 8K graphics, ray tracing, super-fast SSDs, and PS4 backward compatibility.
On its hardware part, the PS5 might have an octa-core processor that is based on AMD’s new Zen 2 architecture and a custom graphics processor that is based on AMD’s Radeon Navi hardware.
Also, Sony announced at the CES 2020 press conference that the company has sold more than 5 million PlayStation VR (PSVR) headsets and 104 million PlayStation 4 (PS4) units.
