This is the life now of Jinky Oda, the comedienne who played Bale in ‘Okay Ka, Fairy Ko’
Former TV/movie comedienne Jinky Oda, who was known as Bale in the sitcom Okay Ka, Fairy Ko, is living this kind of life now.
She was one of the comediennes who became popular during the 80s. Jinky’s popularity rose when she was included in the said sitcom featuring Bossing Vic Sotto as Enteng Kabisote. Her character always had a conflict with the character of Ruby Rodriguez named Amy.
Aside from her stints on TV, she also appeared in several movies such as Mara Clara The Movie, Una Ka Naging Akin, Humanap Ka Ng Pangit, and the movie version of Okay Ka, Fairy Ko. Jinky, once in her life also endorsed a whitening product back in 2008, based on the article from Philippine Entertainment Portal.
“Actually, nagulat ako kung bakit ako ang pinili nila. Kakauwi ko lang from Australia noon at ang taba-taba ko. As usual, negra pa rin naman ako. Noong nilapitan ako para sa product na ito, hindi muna ako na-convince kasi hindi naman ako naniniwala na mag-iiba pa ang kulay ng balat ko. Pero sa naging paliwanag nila sa akin, sinubukan ko na rin,” she shared regarding her endorsement. Apparently, until now, she is still endorsing the said product.
After leaving the entertainment industry, Jinky Oda moved to California, USA. Although she is not in showbiz now, she still enjoys doing stand-up comedy. She also has her own YouTube channel now but she just posts occasionally.
In 2015, she received a Certification of Completion from the Actors Guild of the Philippines. She shared this on her Instagram account. This goes to show that she has not turned her back totally from acting.
