HBO announced Thursday that the US cable channel already secured the rights to produce “Parasite” adaptation into a miniseries.
This, after Bong Joon-ho, a South Korea director, won the Palme d’Or top prize at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival for his film “Parasite“. The said film has earned $130 million worldwide. Also, “Parasite” was named as the best foreign film at this year’s Golden Globe Awards.
Bong Joon-ho will be teaming up with Adam McKay for the adaptation of the said movie. Bong and Adam will adapt “Parasite” for an English-language miniseries.
In addition, Dooho Choi of Kate Street; Miky Lee, Cho Young Ki and Francis Chung of CJ Entertainment; and Kevin Messick of Hyperobject will serve as executive producers on the miniseries. Also, Jerry Ko of CJ Entertainment will serve as a co-executive producer, while Fred Lee of CJ Entertainment will serve as a producer of the said film.
