Bluetooth introduced Bluetooth LE Audio at the CES 2020. LE, which defined as low energy, was an improvement of its current technology named Classic Audio.

LE Audio, according to its site, may include Low Complexity Communications Codec (LC3) that can provide “high quality even at low data rates.”

The Multi-Stream Audio feature of LE Audio, according to Nick Hunn, CTO of WiFore Consulting, will improve the performance of wireless earbuds.

The LE Audio can add support for people with hearing aids as the new audio will be able to “bring all the benefits of Bluetooth audio to the growing number of people with hearing loss.” According to Stefan Zimmer, Secretary General of European Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association, LE Audio could be one of the most important improvements for users who have hearing aids.
