A man in Tagbilaran applying for police clearance was arrested due to a pending arrest warrant
TAGBILARAN – A man applying for police clearance was arrested at the Tagbilaran City Police Station after discovering he has an arrest warrant.
Police clearance is a government certificate that certifies the holder is free of any criminal records. This is one of the documents required by a government agency or an employer to ensure that the applicant does not have a criminal record.
It serves a similar purpose as the NBI Clearance or National Bureau of Investigation Clearance. The difference is that the PNP Clearance can only guarantee no criminal records from a specific area, whereas the NBI Clearance guarantees no criminal records throughout the Philippines.
When applying for a PNP clearance, the following general requirements must be met:
- Personal appearance
- Police clearance application form
- Community tax certificate (cedula) and/or Barangay clearance
- Police clearance fee
- 2×2 ID picture (not applicable to all areas)
- Birth certificate/Baptismal or any government-issued valid ID Other possible requirements (not applicable to all areas)
Meanwhile, a man applying for PNP clearance was arrested at the Tagbilaran City Police Station after discovering he has an arrest warrant.
The arrested person was identified as Luke Jon Axl Borja, 28 years old, a resident of Barangay Poblacion I in Tagbilaran City.
It was found out from the National Police Clearance System (NPCS) that Borja has an arrest warrant for violating R.A 9262 (Violence Against Women and Children) issued by Acting Presiding Judge Zarah Daquila Aguisando-Silvosa of the 11th Judicial Region, Branch 33 in Davao Del Sur with the recommended bail bond of P36,000.00.
Borja is now in the custody of the Tagbilaran City Police Station.
